Infrared radiation used in so called «Infrared Cabins» Infrared radiation does not give the natural sweating effect the original Harvia Finnish saunas and sauna heaters provide you in well built sauna heat - stream - ventilation combination (the healthiest principle to clean yourself). By sweating millions of your skin pores release most effective way dirt and toxins from your skin to be washed away after Finnish Sauna session (cleaning and detoxificating the body skin). Please note that 82°C (180°F) heat kills all bacteria in Finish sauna heat. Infrared cabins and Turkish (Hammam) baths do not reach this temperature. Please read from our Web pages the article «The Sauna - the nature's bathhouse» and find Finnish amazing over 2000 years old Sauna principle based on simply pouring water over the heated stones. In the baking industry ovens (my former engineering profession), we used infrared radiation to get the toasted effect on the bread surface. There is not any ultimate health recharges or evidence using infrared radiation in infrared cabins. We at Sauna Pekka will not provide infrared radiation cabins which are called Saunas - misleading buyers from real Finnish Sauna effect when using dry infrared radiation. Please note : «Sauna» is a word in Finnish language translated to English «The Nature's Bathhouse». People in North America have learned and been obliged to use dry saunas because most heaters made here did not resist the water shock, missing the very important humidity factor of genuine Finnish saunas. The healthy way to clean your body is the original Finnish sauna principle (heat - steam - ventilation) when the body cleans itself the natural way by sweating and eliminating toxins. Please refer to our Sauna Pekka technical ventilation presentation for saunas - "The secrets of Finnish Sauna ventilation". PS 1 - Physicians warn the patients not to use infrared radiation in Sauna PS 2 - Infrared radiation units are not UL and UL-C (Underwriter Laboratories) approved units for Sauna use. PS 3 - Air ventilation is very important in Finnish saunas; you cannot combine it with infrared radiation units neither with steam boiler units in Turkish baths rooms (Hammams). PS 4 - Infrared radiation units do not provide heat for the sauna as Sauna heaters do and are not used in outdoor saunas. |
