Sauna on my boat Olka

	Finland is a country of great lakes.   So one of those days my cousins family   invited my wife and me to sail with them   on Saimaa. Saimaa is the pearl of Finland's   60,000 lakes connected with eastern lake   district as well as to the salt water.   Finnish Baltic has one of the nicest archipelago  in the world.
So we spent great days together leaving from  Lappeenranta to Punkaharju spectacular islands. But what was the greatest was that Svantte and Marja-Liisa have a tiny small sauna on they boat. So every evening just after we landed on a sandy  beach of some island Svantte heated his sauna.
	What a joy it is to have a boat with a real   genuine Finnish sauna. You are just sailing   in your swimming pool. So you can imaging   our enthusiasm to get a boat with a sauna.  Svantte told us that he knows a boat which   would fit our wishes - Olka.
So rest was a history. We became a owner of Olka. She was leaving in Lappeenranta about  six hours drive from our home. So we let our friend to move her on the highways to  Lahti habor. But even we cut her top deck realigns and the Captains navigation deck, Olka cut all  communication lines in Lappeenranta city when she left to her new harbor home in Lahti.
	Before we got Olka into her new home waters we decided to give her a new outlook. She needed  to be painted and before the paint sandblasted. But what we were not aware was that her bottom  was rotten caused by the acidity when she was  powered by a steam engine. So my friend painter  blow several holes in Olka's bottom and she  needed a new bottom.
After all those adversities what a beauty  and pleasure she was. Her home was in Lahti  on the lake Vesijärvi which is 30 km long and  connected to the largest lake Päijänne 300 km long in middle Finland. Every summer weekends we took of thru Vääksy canal upto Päijänne  where we could find marvelous uninhabited  islands with sandy beaches.

 Olka's best bet was her sauna. 

Finnish lakes are cold like lakes in Canada in early spring and in late autumn. 
So what ever type of whether we had we could enjoy our create swimming pool 
because the smooth «löyly» of Olka's sauna. 
To own a sauna in your house, cottage, by lake or river side it is it's best 
you can imaging.
 But, ones in your life time you must try a sauna on a boat with your friends. 
It is unforgettable heavenly experience.
